Collection I
Collection I consists of 144 works. Each work is a setting of a mathematical sequence or a number related to the Fibonacci numbers and the golden ratio. A number sequence is turned into a sequence of notes, generally rendered in one-to-one correspondence; a ratio is rendered as an interval. Besides pitch, musical parameters such as loudness, timbre and spatial location are often determined by the sequence or ratio as well. The resulting style is one unmistakeably characterized by Fibonacci numbers and golden ratios. The works in Collection I were written from April 22, 2002 to November 21, 2004. The music was composed in Austria, California, and Germany. Collection I is available on DVD-A. See Online Shop for details. Back to Main Menu |
