description of sequence:
fractional part of Φ*n (or φ*n - same sequence) where n is an integer greater than 0
description of piece: The sequence is spatialized using clicks (impulses) of 1 sample. 0 indicates that the sequence value is heard on the left side; 1 indicates that the value sounds like it is coming from the right side. A value of .5 (which does not occur in the sequence) would sound as if it were coming from the middle. The direction can be reversed. A mixture of panning and delay is used to simulate spatial location. A number of samples is chosen as the duration for one click (the impulse and the silence thereafter); the number of clicks per second must be less than 877.963. The duration of the piece is not defined (see Csound file). This piece can also be realized as a continuously running installation with graphics (see catalogue). offset: 1 number of members used: undefined number of channels: 2 piece length: undefined note value: at least .001139 seconds number of simulated spatial locations: undefined synthesis technique: impulses of 1 sample dynamic: at least mp, not louder than ff simulated spatial location: left to right or right to left delay: -.000435 to .000435 or .000435 to -.000435 synthesis language used: Csound dedication: to Peter Anderson |
